Ben Edis Counselling & Psychotherapy
Hello and welcome
My name is Ben (he/him) and I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working online but based in Nottingham. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where together we can safely explore those difficult or painful thoughts and feelings you may be having; without the risk of being judged, criticised, blamed or shamed.
Life can be pretty tough at times and I think it is important to be able to talk things through with someone who is interested, kind, and understanding; someone committed to helping you move forward.
Whether it is due to a relationship problem, a work-related difficulty, something that happened in your past, uncertainties about the future, or something entirely different: it is important to talk about it.
Your first session
I believe it is important to find the right therapist for you and so a focus of the first session is on working out together if I might be right for you and if I feel I am able to provide you with the service you need. If, after meeting with me, you don't feel we click then you are under no obligation to continue with me. Likewise, if I feel that I am not going to be the right therapist for you, I will say so and will help you consider what other options are available to you.
We will talk about what your reasons for seeking therapy are along with what you hope to gain from it. In advance of our first session, I will send you a copy of my pre-therapy information and intake sheet so that you can get an idea of what you can expect from therapy with me and you can tell me a little bit about yourself.
Our ongoing work together
I offer open-ended therapy to adults on a weekly basis for as long as we both agree is beneficial, for which I charge £50 per 50-minute session of counselling/psychotherapy.
Currently, I am only able to provide sessions via an online video platform, though I hope to offer face-to-face sessions in the future.
If you have any questions about therapy or would like to discuss a booking, please get in touch.
If you are interested in exploring if therapy with me is right for you, please complete the form providing your name, email address and a brief message and I will do my best to respond to you within two working days. Alternatively, please feel free to email me directly at email@example.com.
If you have not heard back from me within two working days, please check your spam/junk folder as sometimes my emails are misinterpreted as junk by spam filters.
In my response, I will attempt to answer any questions you have about psychotherapy, along with providing you with some information about my services and my availability to meet with you for an initial assessment.
By making contact, you are not committing to beginning work with me but it gives us the opportunity to discuss if therapy would be helpful for you.
